Pre-employment screening is one of the best ways to ensure your team is built properly.  I think of it like the best pizza - why is it the best?  It starts with the best ingredients. 


For you to get the most from using the pre employment assessment, there are a few very simple and powerful disciplines to follow for success.


  • Define the position - You, alone or with your team (or me) sit down and decide just what it is you need.  What are the qualities a candidate needs to possess?
    • Is this a customer facing position?
    • Do we want someone who colors outside the lines, or a strict rule follower?
    • Do we need this candidate to drive a process, or to be a valued support team member?
    • Will this position require interaction with others as a main component or will they act alone?

This is just a partial list, but you get the idea.


The assessment is not a replacement for the entire hiring process - it is an enhancement.  It will help you reduce the number of hiring mistakes we all have made.  You will still interview, perform background checks and consider experience.  The assessment will increase your confidence that you are making the right decision.  And it costs a whole lot less than starting over in a few months!
