Your business, your people and your goals are very important to you. As much as I'd rather learn about you and your business, I also understand you need to know a little about me.
Over the last three years, I have been consulting with management teams and PE firms regarding organizational restructurings, team building, and evaluation of acquisition opportunities.
However, after thirty years in senior management, I am most passionate about the people side of business. I believe that your people are your best and most effective marketing. What they deliver to your customers, and to each other, defines your company. Your employees are your customers, and they deserve a great experience.
I embraced pre-employment assessments back in the 90's, and found out that they helped me to hire more effectively. From there I moved into using the assessment process to put together highly effective teams, matching skills and adding complementary skills to round out the team. As the organization grew, coaching executives became another tool that was highly effective.
While in the C-suite, I never passed up an opportunity to coach individuals or teams. It is this passion that drives me to pursue this path, and utilize these skills for others.
My LinkedIn profile is as follows, for your convenience.
Served as the Chief Executive Officer and a Director of CSC ServiceWorks, and its subsidiaries. CSC ServiceWorks is the leading provider of multi-family housing and commercial laundry solutions in residential and academic properties, as well as the industry leader in air vending services at convenience stores and gas stations servicing an installed base of 1.4 million units. CSC ServiceWorks operates in all major metropolitan areas throughout the United States, as well as Canada and Europe, with a workforce in excess of 3,000.
It was a privilege to serve as CSC ServiceWorks’ CEO from January 2010, until my retirement in March, 2016. CSC doubled in size during this period, with financial backing from private equity, (primarily via acquisition). As such, we integrated legacy systems, and melded operating cultures.
The following leadership areas were key to the growth of CSC, resulting in shareholder value:
Centralization of key functions in a decentralized organization
Development of sales effectiveness processes through Salesforce.com
Implementation of technology at the customer facing level:
Automated repair and parts tracking
Computerized routing
Team building and culture evaluation and change management
Employee recognition and rewards programs
Systemic delivery of great customer experiences
Over the past 30 CSC grew from $12.0 million in EBITDA with operations in a single building to over $300 million, across over 40 states, as well as in Canada and Europe. Previously held the role of CFO of CSC, Coinmach and its predecessors, operating in the public and private environment, integrated numerous acquisitions, completed various restructurings and corporate sale and capital market transactions. This resulted in extensive experience navigating Wall Street, including private equity, infrastructure funds, investor relations, the commercial lending and fixed income/equity markets, and rating agencies interactions.
My former linkedIn experience section:
Leader of the dynamic, energetic, customer-focused team we have at CSC ServiceWorks. I have been committed to the long-term success of our organization since July 1986 through the many roles I have been privileged to participate in. To be a part of the continued success and collaboration between our board and our managers and associates is rewarding.
Our commitment to building a world-class service organization that delivers an awesome customer experience to our employees and customers is truly important. Simply stated, we are all customers.
If you thought of CSC ServiceWorks as a multi-unit laundry / air company, you would only be partially correct. We are a team that truly believes in our values and commitment to service. We are a team that truly believes in continuing to raise the bar and be better. In addition, we strive to be nimble in the execution of our customer promise.
We are proud of our business and what got us to where we are today. We are even more proud of the journey we continue to take. I encourage my team to participate # provide feedback directly. The best ideas come from the field. Why? Because the field lives the business every day and wants to provide quality service to our customers.
Providing industry-leading service solutions is a very important part of who we are and who we strive to be. It takes a lot of hard work and constant self-analyzing. Nevertheless, it is our passion, and we see it in the eyes of the people who work hard every day to make it a reality.
Who wouldn't be proud to be the leader of such an organization?
